Used this pot four times since I bought it 1xfor chilli and 3xcanning tomatoes. Used on a gas stove heat range 1 to 6 on a medium duty burner, simmer heat range 1 or 2. No scorching. My only complaint is the handles. Took two of us to lift the hot pot off the stove. The handles were flexing and bending each time I used the pot. The pot itself did not flex or bend the pan of chilli was a lot heavier then the tomatoes. I figure sooner or later the handles will break. I will probably look at a different brand for my next 30 qt. I would think this pan would be ok if your only using it once or twice a year. I really wanted a pot to do full 6 gallon boils. A couple of the reviews said that they could do 6.5 gallon boils with no problem. There is no way I could get 6 gallons to a rolling boil without a boilover.I'm wondering now if these were all grain brewers. I am currently an extract brewer and I was not able to fit more than 5.5 gallons of water and 6 lbs of LME (which comes in a quart sized milk jug). With this combo I had a boilover, but I was brewing outside so I did not really care. Before writing this review, I tried to fill this pot with just water, using a gallon water jug. If I were to pour in the 7th gallon, the water would flow over the top. 6 gallons bring the water level flush with the top of the pot. The bottom of the pot is stamped 30qts so I have no idea what is going on. In the future, I think I would be more comfortable brewing with 4 gallons of water and toping it off to 5 after...
