These trays are being used for what they were intended for, and they work great. We purchased them for our All-American 921 pressure canner. The pressure canner came with 2 of these racks. We are using the canner with 1/2 pint jars and needed more so we could get more jars in per load. We also ordered for our neighbor's canner (he only had 1 rack for his 23 quart Presto). I already had it and liked being able to use it for canning also. My problem was finding a rack that fit it. They were usually too big. I had found one for the bottom of the pot, but decided I wanted to be able to do 2 levels, because I usually make jelly in half pint jars. Doing twice as many jars saves time and gas for my stove. So this works for putting over the first layer of jars and then I can stack jars on top of it. So I get 2 batches of jelly processed at once. This rack is perfect, sturdy and the holes are small so no worry of tiny jars tipping. |
