The clad technology means even heat conduction and it works on induction cookware. An extra bonus for me is the easy clean up -- throw it in the dishwasher. Whne necesary, polish with a Bar Keeper's Friend and it will look like new forever. If you are choosing between this and a Dutch oven, go with the Dutch oven because the shape is more versatile.
